FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI SERANGAN BERULANG (RELAPS) PADA PASIEN TUBERKULOSIS PARU DI RSUD LABUANG BAJI MAKASSAR

ABSTRACT
World Health Organization (WHO) has declared TB a "Global Emergency" since 1992. In 2009 there were 9.4 million new cases with 1.7 million deaths globally. Most of the deaths are in developing countries. The prevalence of TB in Indonesia was ranked fourth highest in the world which have an impact on reducing the productivity and quality of patients life .Pulmonary TB patients who had been treated will heal with treatment and regular treatment, but the risk of relapse after receiving Anti-TB Drugs (ATD). The aim of research to determine the factors that influence recurrent attacks (relapses) in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in Makassar Labuang Baji hospital. The study design was a qualitative sampling using purposive sampling on six (6) participants. Data collection using in-depth interviews were taped, then transcribed verbatim and analyzed with phenomenological method. The study was in May-June 2015. The results showed factors that influence the recurrent attacks (relapses) in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis is knowledge, smoking and exposure, nutritional, environmental, economic, and other diseases. Recommended the need to increase patients' knowledge about the care, treatment and prevention of diseases, nutritional improvement and preservation of the environment by involving families and health workers
